Amy is based in Hawkhurst, Kent and paints from her studio at home. Amy is a prolific, and predominately self-taught, painter. Finding inspiration from every day objects such as flowers, fruit, vegetables and crockery, often foraged from the surrounding landscape, or found within her own home. She is always on the hunt for some interesting looking objects to bring back to the studio.
The aim of her paintings are to highlight these everyday objects, painting from life and often ‘alla prima’ to capture what she see’s, but also how she see’s it. Focusing on their form, capturing the light upon the pieces and influence of colour and how this can inform the feeling of each piece.
